The world was illuminated in blue
The blue light was present in several spots of the world on November 14.  Countless buildings and monuments were illuminated to symbolize
the struggle and engagement of all countries, governments, and populations in the fight against diabetes.
In Porto Alegre, the Children with Diabetes’ head office, the São Pedro Theater, the Iberê Camargo Foundation, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the
Monument for the Expeditionary, the Municipal Chamber of Porto Alegre, which is an ICD partner, Panvel Bem-Estar, which works focused on
people with diabetes, were illuminated by the symbol of the campaign - the blue circle.
The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) began this date’s celebrations in 1991, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), as
a response to the frequency increase of diabetes worldwide.
